Breakfast Workshop – 2019 Korea Economic Outlook
The BCCK will host the first Breakfast Workshop of the year on the topic of 2019 Korea Economic Outlook. Chonghoon Park, Head of Research, Standard Chartered Bank Korea, will share his insights and forecasts on the key drivers and themes that will shape the Korean economy this year.
- * Growth forecast: Economic growth is likely to slow down due to cyclical and structural reasons
- * Government policy: Current government puts too much emphasis on policy objectives rather than outcomes
- * Monetary policy: Bank of Korea is likely to adopt a dovish stance without cutting its base rate given financial imbalances
Mr. Chong Hoon Park, Ph. D., Head of Economic Research Korea
Chong Hoon joined Standard Chartered Korea in 2009 and currently heads its Korea research team. He provides in-depth analysis on the Korean economy to Standard Chartered Bank clients and at business functions. Previously he worked as a senior research fellow/ head of telecommunication policy at Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) for six years and as the Executive Vice President at SK Broadband (former Hanaro Telecom) for four years in Seoul. Chong Hoon has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a researcher and strategist. He completed his doctorate degree specialising in international economics and development from Northwestern University.
