[Event] BCCK Hosts Special Breakfast with City of London’s Lord Mayor on International Financial Outlook Post Brexit
On February 13, the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK), in partnership with the Seoul Finance Forum and HSBC, hosted a Special Breakfast event with the Lord Mayor of the City of London at the Four Seasons Seoul.
Mr. Estlin, the 691st Lord Mayor of the City of London, shared his views on three key themes shaping the future of the global financial markets: fintech, asset management, and green finance. Highlighting the common interests in developing regulations as a way to nurture innovation in London and Seoul, the Lord Mayor expressed his optimism in further developing the already strong ties between the two cities.
In concluding the event, the Lord Mayor cast a vision for the UK post-Brexit: “Despite the short-term volatilities, I have no doubt that London, with its strong ecosystem focused on innovation, is poised to continue as the international financial centre in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
The event featured a number of business executives and VIP guests including British Ambassador Simon Smith; Mr. Eun Young Jung, the CEO of HSBC Korea; and Sean Blakeley, the CEO of the BCCK.
