Mr. Daniel Fertig

Partner, Assurance / Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers

Samil PwC is the Korea member firm of PwC, and Korea’s largest professional services organisation with over 3,500 employees. Daniel is a partner in the Global Client Services Team, responsible for providing a variety of cross-border assurance and transaction based services to multi-national companies. Daniel also leads Samil PwC’s UK Business Group, and is on Samil PwC’s Inbound Committee. Daniel transferred to Seoul in 2006 from PwC’s London office, and has since spent 3 years in Japan (Tokyo/Osaka), from 2009 to 2012, before returning to Seoul.

Mr. Graeme Salt

Headmaster / Dulwich College Seoul

Graeme Salt has been the Headmaster of Dulwich College Seoul since January 2015. He has enjoyed previous leadership and teaching roles in British international schools of Brazil (Sao Paulo), UK (London), China (Beijing) and Malaysia (Nusajaya), and educated at the British universities of Bristol (Biological Sciences), Exeter (Education), London (Science and Culture) and Bath (Education).

Mr. Jeremy Vallance

Head of HR / Standard Chartered Bank Korea

Jeremy is the Head of HR for SC Jeil Bank (SC제일은행) and is a member of the Bank’s Management Team with overall responsibility for the people strategy of the Korean franchise of Standard Chartered Bank. He has been in Seoul since 2015 and previously was based in Singapore working in a global role across the Bank’s network of 50 countries.  Jeremy has more than 25 years of experience across Europe and Asia and prior to joining the Bank he worked in the hi-tech sector for Cisco Systems, based in India, having spent his earlier career with Arthur Andersen and Mobil Oil Company in the UK. Jeremy has a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Nottingham.


Mr. Nick Harris

President / Esso Petroleum Korea Ltd.

Nick Harris is the President and Representative Director of two ExxonMobil companies in Korea.  Nick arrived in Seoul in mid-2017 and currently has responsibility for ExxonMobil’s lubricants business in Korea and Taiwan.  Previously Nick has worked in variety of roles in Strategic and Business Planning, Sales, Business Development and Customer Service across a range of businesses within the Downstream companies of ExxonMobil.  A native of the UK, Nick spent his childhood in Hong Kong before receiving his MSci in Chemistry at Bristol University and then moving through London, Budapest, Brussels, Washington D.C. and Houston in his ExxonMobil assignments.


Mr. Sean Blakeley

Chief Executive Officer / BCCK

Sean Blakeley is the Chief Executive Officer of the BCCK. A 12-year resident of Korea, he worked as a director of business development with a Korean publishing company and was managing director of a British consulting company prior to joining the Chamber in 2015. Sean has also completed a master’s program at Seoul National University in International Relations & Political Economy as a government scholar and speaks Korean fluently. During his career, Sean has worked with companies across a broad range of sectors including consumer electronics, retail, consumer goods, and F&B.


Mr. Richard Southall

Managing Director / McLarens Korea

Richard Southall is the Managing Director of McClarens Korea, which is an employee-owned claims service provider and the only international loss adjusting company in Korea with a chartered loss adjuster. Richard celebrated 20 years with the McLarens Group in 2012. He has spent more than 15 years in Asia, including in Indonesia and the Philippines. He became McLarens Korea’s Managing Director in 2003 and is the company’s only expatriate loss adjuster. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters.


Mr. John Kim

Partner / Lee&Ko

John Jungkyum Kim is a U.S. trained and licensed attorney working on both corporate and finance matters and is a core member of the Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group at Lee & Ko. He has accumulated more than 20 years of legal experience and specializes in insurance/reinsurance but also has significant expertise in other financial services, healthcare, hotels/resorts and casinos, technology, entertainment and media, tourism, and transportation industries for Korean domestic and foreign international clients. In working with his clients, Mr. Kim has worked on matters involving regulatory, transactional, international trade, dispute resolution, employment and labor, and government relations and public affairs. During his legal career, Mr. Kim has counselled and supported clients and industries which include those connected to trade with the United Kingdom.


Mr. Eddie Nixon

Managing Director / Adidas Korea

Eddie Nixon is the Managing Director for adidas Korea Ltd. He has been based in Asia Pacific for over 20 years since leaving the UK to take on various leading roles in Electronics & Furniture Retail based in Fiji, Malaysia & Singapore.  In 2010, Eddie joined Adidas and moved to Japan where he headed up the Retail and Online division before moving to Seoul in August 2016 to take up his current role.

Mr. JungHyun Baek

Managing Director / Jaguar Land Rover Korea

JH Baek is the Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Korea (JLR) and board member of KAIDA (Korea Automobile Importers and Distribution Association). Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automobile manufacturer. In Korea, JLR Korea operates 26 sales branches and 25 service centers with 1,300 employees. JH has 29 years of experience in the Korean automobile industry within a number of car manufacturers and been active Managing Director of JLR since 2015. As a board member of KAIDA, he has contributed to the organisation by strengthening collaboration with other car makers leveraging his robust relationships with a diverse set of people in the industry.

Mr. Manuel Alvarez Diestro

Country Manager, Korea / British Airways

Manuel Alvarez is the Country Manager for British Airways in Korea. He served as commercial manager of Iberia Airlines, the Spanish air carrier under British Airways owner, International Airlines Group (IAG), for Lebanon, Egypt and Algeria. He has worked in the sales department of British Airways and IAG. Manuel started his professional carrier in the airline industry in New York in 1998 after graduating from Boston University.

Mr. Mark Meaney

General Manager / Conrad Seoul, Conrad Hotels & Resorts

Mark Meaney has over 20 years experience in the international hospitality industry at diverse luxury hotels and resorts located in the North America, Europe and Asia. 12 of these years have been spent working in Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the luxury brand of Hilton Worldwide, including time in the Mount Juliet Conrad in Ireland, Conrad Tokyo in Japan and the Conrad Centennial Singapore. He has solidified his position as an expert in managing luxury hotels through the expertise he has developed in managing the Conrad brand. His professional forté is his Asian market proficiency.

Matthieu is the current Chief Executive Officer of British American Tobacco Korea.

Mr. Mike McClure

Chief Representative / Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

Mike McClure is the Chief Representative of the Korea office and head of the Korean Disputes Practice. He is also an English qualified solicitor advocate. Prior to working in Korea, he worked in the firm’s offices in London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Moscow. Mike advised clients involved in international disputes, particularly in the energy, construction, infrastructure, transport and property sectors. He has represented clients before arbitral tribunals in a number of different countries and also the Courts of First Instance and Courts of Appeal in the UK and the Dubai International Financial Centre as well as the Hong Kong High Court.

Mr. Rob Peer

President / BAE Systems International Limited Korea Branch

Rob began his current role as President BAE Systems Korea in September 2016 and is responsible for developing and prosecuting business for the company in Korea. BAE Systems is the 3rd largest global defense supplier and provides some of the worlds most advanced technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions. Rob has over 16 years experience in the defense and aerospace sector across a number of different markets, including the Republic of Korea, China and India. He holds a MSC from Cranfield University.

Mr. Steven Anthony Klein

Managing Director, Global Banking / HSBC Korea

Steven Klein has led HSBC Korea’s Global Banking business since 2017. He is responsible for corporate, financial institutions multinationals client coverage as well as Global Liquidity & Cash Management and Global Trade & Receivables Financing. Steven received a BSc degree in International Relations from Geneva University as well as an MSc in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics.

Mr. Martin Fryer

Director / British Council Korea

Martin Fryer is from Hampshire, England. He has worked for the British Council in Brazil, Turkey, Spain, Argentina and Pakistan. He has been Director of the British Council in Korea since September 2013. He oversees the entire portfolio of British Council work in Korea which includes work in higher education, English language teaching and assessment, arts and design, the creative economy, science and technology exchanges and the social economy. Martin is also head of the Charity Committee at the BCCK.

Mr. Mike Welch

Head of Trade & Investment / British Embassy Seoul

Mike Welch is the Head of Trade and Investment for the Department for International Trade, based at the British Embassy Seoul. Mike arrived in Seoul in June 2017. He joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in January 1999, filling a variety of roles both in the UK and overseas, before taking time out most recently to serve as the Programme & Communications Director for the UAE-UK Business Council, based in Abu Dhabi.
