Samil PwC is the Korea member firm of PwC, and Korea’s largest professional services organisation with over 3,500 employees. Daniel is a partner in the Global Client Services Team, responsible for providing a variety of cross-border assurance and transaction based services to multi-national companies. Daniel also leads Samil PwC’s UK Business Group, and is on Samil PwC’s Inbound Committee. Daniel transferred to Seoul in 2006 from PwC’s London office, and has since spent 3 years in Japan (Tokyo/Osaka), from 2009 to 2012, before returning to Seoul.

Graeme Salt

Headmaster / Dulwich College Seoul

Graeme Salt has been tthe Head of College at Dulwich College Seoul since January 2015. He has enjoyed previous leadership and teaching roles in British international schools of Brazil (Sao Paulo), UK (London), China (Beijing) and Malaysia (Nusajaya), and been educated at the British universities of Bristol (Biological Sciences), Exeter (Education), London (Science and Culture) and Bath (Education). His interests revolve around attempts at being a good father and husband, interesting travel (ideally by bicycle), sport in Korea and worldwide, cooking, BBC radio programmes and summers in west coast Canada.

Nick Harris

President / Mobil Korea Lube Oil Inc. / Esso Petroleum Korea Ltd.

Nick Harris is the President and Representative Director of two Exxon Mobil companies in Korea. Nick arrived in Seoul in mid-2017 and currently has responsibility for Exxon Mobil’s lubricants business in Korea and Taiwan. Previously Nick worked in variety of roles in Strategic and Business Planning, Sales, Business Development and Customer Service across a range of businesses within the Downstream companies of Exxon Mobil. A native of  the UK, Nick spent his childhood in HongKong before receiving his MSci in Chemistry at Bristol University and then moving through London, Budapest, Brussels, Washington D.C. and Houston in his Exxon Mobil assignments.

Sean Blakeley

Chief Executive Officer / BCCK

Sean Blakeley is the Chief Executive Officer of the BCCK. A 12-year resident of Korea, he worked as a director of business development with a Korean publishing company and was managing director of a British consulting company prior to joining the Chamber in 2015. Sean has also completed a master’s program at Seoul National University in International Relations & Political Economy as a government scholar and speaks Korean fluently. During his career, Sean has worked with companies across a broad range of sectors including consumer electronics, retail, consumer goods, and F&B.

Mike McClure

Chief Representative / Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

Mike McClure is the Chief Representative of the Korea office and head of the Korean Disputes Practice. He is also an English qualified solicitor advocate. Prior to working in Korea, he worked in the firm’s offices in London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Moscow. Mike advised clients involved in international disputes, particularly in the energy, construction, infrastructure, transport and property sectors. He has represented clients before arbitral tribunals in a number of different countries and also the Courts of First Instance and Courts of Appeal in the UK and the Dubai International Financial Centre as well as the Hong Kong High Court.

John Jungkyum Kim is a U.S. trained and licensed attorney working on both corporate and finance matters and is a a Co-Head and International Lead Partner of the Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group at Lee & Ko. He has accumulated more than 20 years of legal experience and specializes in insurance/reinsurance matters but also has significant expertise in other financial services, healthcare, hotels/resorts and casinos, energy, technology, media and telecommunications, tourism, and transportation industries for Korean domestic and foreign international clients.  In working with his clients, Mr. Kim has works on matters involving regulatory, transactional, international trade, dispute resolution, employment and labor, and government relations and public affairs. During his legal career, Mr. Kim has counseled and supported clients and industries which include those connected to trade with the United Kingdom including support on the proposed Korea-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement.

JH Baek is the Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Korea (JLR) and board member of KAIDA (Korea Automobile Importers and Distribution Association). Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automobile manufacturer. In Korea, JLR Korea operates 26 sales branches and 25 service centers with 1,300 employees. JH has 29 years of experience in the Korean automobile industry within a number of car manufacturers and been active Managing Director of JLR since 2015. As a board member of KAIDA, he has contributed to the organisation by strengthening collaboration with other car makers leveraging his robust relationships with a diverse set of people in the industry.

Duncan Harrison

Country Manager / Robert Walters Korea

Duncan Harrison was appointed Country Manager of Robert Walters Korea in July 2014. With this appointment, he assumed responsibility for the leading foreign global recruitment consultancy in Korea. Until becoming Country Manager, Duncan led Robert Walters Japan’s highly successful Commerce Finance team for 7 years. Robert Walters Korea has continued to grow under Duncan’s leadership, with 2018 being the fifth successive year of double digit revenue growth. Delivering insight on job market trends and reports on key recruitment, Robert Walters Korea serves as a pioneer in the bilingual recruitment industry in Korea. Duncan was born in the UK and graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Political Science.

Eddie Nixon

Eddie Nixon is the Managing Director for adidas Korea Ltd. He has been based in Asia Pacific for over 20 years since leaving the UK to take on various leading roles in Electronics & Furniture Retail based in Fiji, Malaysia & Singapore.  In 2010, Eddie joined Adidas and moved to Japan where he headed up the Retail and Online division before moving to Seoul in August 2016 to take up his current role.

Matthieu Juery

Chief Executive Officer / British American Tobacco Korea

Matthieu Juery is the CEO of British American Tobacco Korea and the Area Director of the North Asia Area that includes Taiwan and Hong Kong. British American Tobacco Korea Ltd. (BAT Korea), founded in 1990, employs over 1,000 employees and produces (in Sacheon factory), markets locally and globally exports BAT global drive brands (Dunhill, Kent, Lucky Strike, Rothmans etc.) traditional cigarettes as well as Next Generation “Tobacco Heating” products (Glo ™/Neo™).

A Swiss and French national, born in Paris, Matthieu worked for 15 years in the FMCG industry – among others in the L’Oréal group where he held marketing and general management positions in Europe and Asia – before joining BAT in 2010 as General Manager of BAT Austria. He then served as Area Director of BAT Hellas, overseeing the area of Greece, Cyprus, Malta, and Israel. Before leading BAT Korea he worked in BAT Global Headquarters in London as Global Brand Director for Rothmans, one of the leading global drive brands in BAT’s portfolio. He is married with 4 children.

Graham Johnstone

Chief Risk Officer / HSBC Korea

Since March 2018, Graham has held the role of Chief Risk Officer for Republic of Korea, where he is responsible for the enterprise-wise risk management of HSBC’s operations in South Korea. He has leadership responsibilities for second line teams leading Operational Risk, Wholesale Credit, Traded Risk, Retail Risk, Collections and Risk Business Management.

Prior to that Graham’s career has straddled both Commercial Banking (CMB) and Risk with recent roles including Chief of Staff (CMB UK), Director, Corporate Banking (CMB UK), Group Strategy and Planning, (CMB), and Chief Risk Officer and Deputy CEO, Algeria.

He holds a Business Diploma in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a BCom Entrepreneurship from Royal Roads University and is a CFA® Charterholder.

Graham is husband to Erny and a proud father to son Kai who is 3 years old.

Andrew Freeman

Principal / Seoul Foreign British School

Andrew joined Seoul Foreign British School as Principal in August 2018 after spending 12 years leading schools for Royal Dutch Shell in locations in Nigeria and Russia. During that time he led a school to be the first accredited globally in the Second Edition Self Review in an International Primary Curriculum, and shared learning and leadership in this area for other international schools through conferences, webinars and workshops. Andrew also has experience of teaching and learning in other locations including the Dominican Republic, Nepal and the UK.

Andrew holds a degree in Accounting and Finance (Aberystwyth University), a PGCE (De Montfort University) and a Masters in Education (Cardiff University).

Mark Meaney

General Manager / Conrad Seoul, Conrad Hotels & Resorts

Mark Meaney has over 20 years experience in the international hospitality industry at diverse luxury hotels and resorts located in the North America, Europe and Asia. 12 of these years have been spent working in Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the luxury brand of Hilton Worldwide, including time in the Mount Juliet Conrad in Ireland, Conrad Tokyo in Japan and the Conrad Centennial Singapore. He has solidified his position as an expert in managing luxury hotels through the expertise he has developed in managing the Conrad brand. His professional forté is his Asian market proficiency.

Sam Harvey

Director / British Council Korea

Sam Harvey is the Director of the British Council in Korea taking up post in September 2018. She has worked for the British Council in Occupied Palestinian Territories, Egypt, Nigeria, India and Zimbabwe. As Director, she overees the entire portfolio of work of the British Council in Korea. This includes English language teaching and assessment, arts and design, the creative economy, social enterprise, higher education and science and technology exchanges. Sam is also head of the Charity Committee at the BCCK.

Mike Welch

Head of Trade & Investment / British Embassy Seoul

Mike Welch is the Head of Trade and Investment for the Department for International Trade, based at the British Embassy Seoul. Mike arrived in Seoul in June 2017. He joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in January 1999, filling a variety of roles both in the UK and overseas, before taking time out most recently to serve as the Programme & Communications Director for the UAE-UK Business Council, based in Abu Dhabi.

AE-Brands Korea is part of the Asahi beer family, distributing the European export brands to the Asia Pacific markets, with Korea being their biggest market in Asia and regional hub. Currently its portfolio of brands includes Pilsner Urquell, Kozel, Peroni, Groisch and Meantime.

Joel is the Finance Director, responsible for Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and IT. Joel transferred to Seoul in 2017 from Asahi Europe’s London office, having previously been based in Hong Kong and Switzerland.

Robert Peer

Rob began his current role as President of BAE Systems Korea in September 2016 and is responsible for developing and prosecuting business for the company in Korea. BAE System is the 3rd largest global defence supplier and provides some of he world’s most advanced technology-led defence, aerospace and security solution. Rob has over 16 years experience in the defense and aerospace sector across a number of different markets, including the Republic of Korea, China and India. He holds a MSC from Cranfield University.
