The British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK) is an organisation that represents the business interests of its members in Korea. The Chamber represents a broad spectrum of British, international and Korean companies, who share significant commercial interests in the country. The Chamber’s Trade Services help British companies seeking to enter the Korean market.

 

General Summary

 

BCCK is seeking a Trade Coordinator for its Trade and Policy Team. This position will support all aspects of the Chamber’s Trade related activities, including but not limited to conducting research projects on key trade areas, supporting the entrance of British companies into the Korean market.

 

The position is a full-time (1 year, renewed on performance) and will start in August.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Undertake market research work for UK companies;
  • Help gather information to develop strategies/business plans that support UK companies seeking to begin or expand their business activities in Korea;
  • Find and organise contacts to develop a network with UK and Korean companies and organisations;
  • Support and produce Sector Reports;
  • Aid the provision of business advice and assistance to UK companies;
  • Conduct data entry and other reporting requirements to meet quality and timing targets;
  • Support and lead projects to help UK companies enter the market;
  • Support the wider work of the BCCK team and create additional opportunities for BCCK members;
  • Provide support to the CEO as needed;
  • Support BCCK events and functions as needed;
  • Assist with preparing materials for the BCCK trade meetings and events;
  • Monitor trade developments in Korea and the UK;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be fluent in English and Korean.
  • Must have excellent research and analytical skills as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be capable of independent decision-making and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly motivated, passionate and creative with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organisation.
  • Must have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient with database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Abilities

  • BA or MA Degree in political science, international relations, business and/or relevant fields
  • Experience of conducting a research and/or consulting
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Positive, confident and dynamic personality

The Chamber’s Policy programme works with member companies to advocate for their market access issues and to improve the international business environment in Korea.

 

General Summary

 

BCCK is seeking a Policy Coordinator for its Trade & Policy Team. This position will support all aspects of the Chamber’s Policy programme-related activities, including but not limited to conducting research projects on key policy areas, drafting position papers and white papers, supporting content-driven events, building relationships with key business leaders and policymakers, and handling logistics of events and meetings.

 

The position is a full-time (1 year, renewed on performance) and will start in August.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Conduct research on behalf of various Subcommittees;
  • Draft white papers on key market access issues on behalf of various Subcommittee;
  • Work closely with the Market Access Committee and industry-specific Subcommittee members on policy-related matters;
  • Support and produce Sector Reports;
  • Support and lead projects to help UK companies enter the market;
  • Support the execution of content-driven events such as breakfast seminars and Thought Leadership Forums; finding speakers, inviting guests, and supporting the logistics of the event;
  • Aid the provision of business advice and assistance to UK companies;
  • Assist with preparing materials for the BCCK Policy and Trade-related meetings and events;
  • Monitor policy and trade-related developments in Korea and the UK;
  • Support the wider work of the BCCK team and create additional opportunities for BCCK members;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the BCCK’s Events & Marketing Teams

 

The BCCK is an organisation that represents the business interests of its members in Korea. The Chamber represents a broad spectrum of British, international and Korean companies, who share significant commercial interests in the country. The BCCK runs both a Marketing & Communications and Events team. The Events Team organizes networking events, seminars, all-day forums, workshops as well as other events. The Marketing & Communications team promotes, markets and communicates all offline and online messaging for the Chamber.

 

General Summary

 

The BCCK is seeking an Intern for its Marketing & Communications and Events Teams. This position will include working on areas related to both teams.

The position is for four months and will start in August.

A 1-year fulltime extension may be possible depending on the performance of the individual and the Chamber.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Support all marketing and communications activities for the Chamber and activities within the Marketing & Communications team;
  • Research information to support the activities of the team;
  • Enter data related to the Chamber’s CRM system;
  • Edit of materials in English and Korean;
  • Support the creation, curation and publication of marketing material;
  • Help to produce online and print marketing materials (including webzine, newsletter, SNS, website etc);
  • Support the registration of members for Chamber events;
  • Support logistics of events, including conducting roles during the events themselves;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Events, PR or Hospitality preferred

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Should be fluent in English and Korean.
  • Should be able to take initiative and work effectively under pressure.
  • Should have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Should be proficient with databases and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Should be functionally able to use Abode and Illustrator programs.
